Starting dudes are Dave Montreal and Tommy Harden, your goal is to put the Legendary Holster on Dave Montreal and park him in Town Square to control the town.

The shooting structure is a combination of Dead Man's Hand combined with a fallback to Ace/Three/Fours - the emphasis is on low values to work with Legendary Holster.

The Legendary Holster success rate can't really go higher without changing the shooting structure which would basically be a whole new deck. You could try only 2xLegendary Holster and cycle aggressively but that's only 1 card difference, about 2%. However, at 72.5% it's plenty scary enough.

There is however room to wiggle around between the 2's, 3's, and 4's and even the red A's. What I've tried to do is provide a backup poker structure for when you miss your DMH. Most DMH decks will fill out their Aces and Eights, but since I don't want more 8's than absolutely necessary I chose to instead fully fill out the Aces and then concentrate somewhat on the 3's and 4's. This seems to provide a reasonable fallback and help me keep legal. You could potentially shift some red Aces to these other value as well if you wanted and I expect some movement here as more new cards come out. Pair of Six Shooters I have mixed feeling about. It helps you make Dead Man's Hand, but it also is honestly too many weapons in the deck so if another useful Ace of Hearts comes out I'd like to maybe swap 2 of them. Bank of California and Pony Express can pretty easily be swapped to other values as desired.

I think I want to get a Philip Swinford in there somewhere, just need to decide what to cut to make room. He could potentially even be a starter, as it turns out Tommy's Silver bullet is pretty optional, you don't need it under Dave's watchful eye. I feel that any deck that starts an expensive dude like Dave would really benefit from hiding in the shadows, or else pistol whip is going to ruin your day. Especially since you're not packing stakes just rose either.

Hmm? There are 4xStakes Just Rose in there. It is something I'm keeping an eye on though, if it turns out to be a problem I can unbend my structure for Carter's Bounties or a Pinto but I'd prefer not to until I have more evidence that I need it. And of course, if you ever get into a Shootout with an opposing Wendy she's your #1 Legendary Holster target :) I'll keep Hiding in the Shadows in mind to try out thought, thanks for the recommendation.

Initially, TSJR and SIYE had their codes swapped. If you open the page dtdb.co you should see The Stakes Just Rose.

OK yeah. I just cleared the cache and now it's TSJR again

Glad that's cleared up now :)

This deck looks fun. I'm going to test this out tonight.

After more games with the deck I feel there is not enough variety of Dudes for longer games (particularly multiplayer). I've had situations where I had too many dead cards due to dudes in Boot Hill. Consequently, I'm going to swap in 1 or possible 2 copies of Philip Swinford - probably taking out a Pair of Six Shooters and maybe one of my Deeds to make room. I may also make more tweaks once I get my hands on the NTNR pack but our store is late getting it :(
