Baratheon 9

My first attempt at deck building since the election day slaughter saddlebag came out, although this is version 2 after playing a couple of OCTGN games against an (unknown to me at the time) Gencon 2nd place finisher. Basic idea is to use Andrew Burton to immediately give the other player a bounty, which opens up Father Tolarios. I'll typically use him to find Confession to keep the bounty train going. Ebenezer helps as well. Grimme can help find other spells to quickly build up your blessed dudes. Eventually get a bunch of spells and melee weapons on your deputies for the Crusaders' trait and you've got some pretty powerful dudes. The first version had too loose a draw structure so I've tightened it up significantly. Heretic joker and henry morgan help with winning low ball, since I typically find myself poor early on and goods get expensive, and also to shoot first with unprepared. Would love some feedback!

Starting with 2 Influence is rough - even though your first plan is to increase that to 3 using Father Tolarios and Abram's Crusaders.

May I suggest instead starting 3 Influence which improves to 4?

Perhaps Lucinda "Lucy" Clover instead of Philip Swinford?

Also consider starting Rev. Perry Inbody over Ebenezer Springfield?

One more ghost rock to start, only three cards fail the pull (two of which are spells you plan to fetch with Father Tolarios) plus he can unboot dudes after a Kidnappin' or Election Day Slaughter for another go at the town.

That or wait for Padre Ernesto de Diaz and integrate him into your starting posse...

Thanks @jordan caldwell! My plan was to put a miracle on both Tolarios and Ebenezer and then use the Abram's boot ability to make Ebenezer a deputy, resulting in 4 influence. But, that could be risky to rely on so it's a good point.

My only concern with Lucy is the upkeep, I hate starting with 1 income. Also, I like Ebenezer for his bounty ability over the Rev...I got hit with a Lost to the Plague which completely prevented me from using Confession to give bounties and pretty much killed my game. That being said, if I made both changes then Lucy could also give me bounties, so definitely worth thinking about. I'll try it out and see how it goes. If I were to start Rev. over Ebenezer, would you suggest I keep Ebenezer in my deck and if so what card would replace? Thanks again!

These are good questions that are a matter of personal playstyle.

Personally, unless I was running Queens, I wouldn't have Ebenezer Springfield in the deck unless he was a starting dude.

I can also suggest trying out A Piece of the Action, as it helps to offset the cost of expensive lawdogs while simultaneously fetching your goodies. Especially if you keep Philip Swinford because he can help you align your play hand accordingly.

Cheers!
