I've been disappointed to not yet see any published decks using this new, amazing outfit card for Morgan, so I figured I would post a quick deck.

The deck seems pretty self-explanatory, with the ability to stack Hydro-Puncher and Yagn's Mechanical Skeleton on your dudes, and throw in Morgan Regulators, you should never be without plenty of bullets as well as high bullet studs. Use A Slight Modification to protect your dudes and hand rank modification to win fights. Once you get to 6 control, they will have to come out of their home and fight you at least once to not lose the game, and then once you've won that shootout, you can Run 'Em Down! to put the hurt on.

The deck probably needs a little more in the control department, maybe switch out Jackson's Strike for Epidemic Laboratory? Either way, interested to hear what people think about this new outfit.

from my understanding of Hydro-Puncher you can use it and Yagn's Mechanical Skeleton together unless its a gadget dude

Yagn's Mechanical Skeleton makes the dude a gadget dude.

Why Pedro over Espuelas?

Being a Sidekick to cover casualties and a Horse to power up Calling The Cavalry and trigger the unboot with Morgan Regulators makes Pedro the choice here, though I was considering going 1x Force Field .

I still dont see how that would work if you put Hydro-Puncher on first then the dudes not a gadget dude so you can't put on Yagn's Mechanical Skeleton. If you put Yagn's Mechanical Skeleton on first then you cant attach Hydro-Puncher because you can't have two weapons on.

The rules don't say that you can't attach 2 weapons but that you have to discard one after there are 2 attached. The way I am interpreting that in this case is that Hydro-Puncher supersedes that rulebook discard because the dude with Yagn's Mechanical Skeleton is a Gadget dude. I very well could be incorrect in that interpretation.

I think that's how it works.

just read the rules on actin it says when you buy a new weapon on a dude that already has one you have to discard the old one it does not say when

I'm pretty sure that May 1st Errata to the rules on Horses and Weapons was introduced specifically because of Hydro-Puncher. :)

As someone who has built a gadget deck with some of the same themes, one slight caution with 1 wealth is that it's really, really easy to make yourself money poor early on (though getting a Yagn's on Byrne should negate that).

I'd be a little nervous about Diego getting kidnapped early, due to Jen failing Yagn's on more than half of the pulls in the deck.

Also, while I get the tight draw structure making you want Pedro, I'm not sure how useful it is otherwise.

Nice deck overall though!

@mplain Thank you for clarifying, I forgot that was in the May 1st errata

@TybarSunsong I'm not worried about the 1 wealth considering I have 8 horses to help get rid of Byrne's upkeep, and Maggie to help me get one out, but a Kidnappin' before I can attach anything is definitely an issue. Any suggestions for mitigating that?

Also, not sure what's not to like about Pedro, Sidekicks are always useful and having more horses than just the Yagns is very much needed.

@Baron_Fel

Yeah, I think Byrne's condition is easy enough to meet for you.

I think you have a couple of options:

  1. You do have 2 stud sitting there to defend right off the bat.
  2. Along with this, your actions can be used in a pinch, mostly Calling the Cavalry and It's Not What You Know... though you might get lucky with Outgunned.
  3. You can loosen up your draw structure to have a better shot at getting lowball and inventing first.
  4. You can add more Mad Scientists to your draw structure, or Marty to help out.
  5. Finally, you can swap out Irving or Byrne for a different Mad Scientist like Kyle or Specks.

I think the -3 Value always turns me off, due to playing against a lot of Hex decks, and a decent number of shotgun decks. I'd probably lean toward Mechanical Horse instead.

Free sidekick horse is great right up until someone shotguns your formerly value six currently value three dude...

Nov 05, 2016 Baron_Fel

@twoeyedjack Good thing I don't have anyone value 6 in the deck :) Against shotguns, I could easily keep Pedro on people value 8 and above, and if they get that shotgun up to 5 bullets, that's what A Slight Modification is for... in theory.
