Won a small 6 person Deputy tournament with this deck last week, going 3-0.

The deck follows a very aggressive 3/7/8 draw structure, using Bounty Hunter and Kidnappin' to start fights. Tommy could start in play but I'd rather have the extra cash for a turn 1 Bounty Hunter or Deed.

Don't have any fear. You will consistently hit Full Houses and Four of a Kind hands, and with enough stud you can even do it legally - if you're a 2 stud you are guaranteed a Full House at minimum. Wendy keeps you from having fights you don't want to have and with a horse and a shotgun threatens a lot of low value influence providers and they're not safe at home thanks to Kidnappin' and Bounty Hunter.

Most of the non-starting characters are just decent bodies that support the draw structure. Steven Wiles is a beast, don't be afraid to hold him until near the end of the turn, after you've exhausted some of your opponent's resources, and go to town. In general you don't want to use Travis unless your hand is rubbish, because he's a great threat/job leader who is expendable early. If he does go down, probably better if he's aced than discarded so he doesn't damage your draw structure.

There's no anti-cheatin' tech beyond Phillip/Tommy, just because there wasn't deckspace for it and many people will shy away from cheating against Law Dogs until they're desperate anyway.

Did you have any trouble winning Lowball? With such a good deck structure, I would think you would lose alot.

You lose lowball the majority of the time, unless you hit two pair and get lucky - it's the price you pay to have such consistent shootout control. I'd say it's worth it. It's only given me big trouble against a Legendary Holster deck.

While Steven Wiles is great, would you consider running one less and using Wylie Jenks? I've found him to be extremely valuable once you can afford him, and you still get quite a lot of Steven...

If you play 4 copies, you're carrying a lot of dead weight around if he gets aced...

@FearLordI would have a hard time paying for Wylie Jenks in this deck, which would be my biggest concern. I playtested a few games with him and he was dead in my hand due to cost more often than I dealt with an Ace'd eStevn. Since Steven is usually a one-turn wonder for me it's much easier for me to cycle him for my draws and to try to get more deeds or events into hand.

How do you use the evidence in your deck?

Mar 25, 2015 cjbriley

@plutonickIt's used almost exclusively for draw structure. The choice was between that and Quickdraw Handgun, and since the deck shoots so well I decided to go with something I can cycle back into the deck after making my own people wanted through aggression or Kidnappin', or in extreme cases use to make a critical enemy dude wanted so I can hit them with Bounty Hunter.

It's probably the weakest hinge in the deck. If a better 8H comes out I'll switch it out in a second. Running 2x Quickdraw Handgun or even 4x Quickdraw Handgun instead is probably nearly identical for the deck.
