An introductory Outlaws deck with 2x Base Set and 1x each expansion up to and including Hell's Comin' With Me. The six decks in this series (one per faction can all be built at the same time, excluding the jokers (you'll have 4x jokers from two Base Sets, so you can switch them in to whichever two decks you're playing with).

Your main shooting values are 3, 5 and 7.

Your plan is to boot Allie Hensman and your other dudes in Town Square (using The Sloane Gang) to get the control points your need to take over the town. Remember that control points generated from your home are added to your dude after victory is checked.

  • You have a positive net income each turn even if you lose lowball, so you can build safely unless your opponent has enough control points to win. This gives you time to wait for the right cards in your hand and to play more dudes/deeds. Remember you can spread your deeds either side of your home to help spread his dudes out.
  • Kidnappin' can help pick off key opposing dudes.

a 1x off-value 2C Bottom Dealin' is a nasty surprise and worth holding in hand. It's the only 2 value in the deck, so your opponent will never see it coming.

If it shows up in lowball or in a draw hand, they'll get paranoid and start looking for more and possibly play conservatively.

Thanks davido!

Where possible, I've enjoyed playing some/all of my cheatin' punishment "off value" in competitive play as I like the freedom this gives me. Additionally, as cheatin' punishments tends to sit in your hand you don't want them back in your draw structure, and while they're in your deck they dilute it a little and help with lowball.

Building on your point, one fun thing for new players to do with these introductory decks is to switch the Cheatin' Punishment around as they gain experience and decide which ones they like. Plus it will keep their opponents guessing! :)
