An introductory First Peoples deck with 2x Base Set and 1x each expansion up to and including Hell's Comin' With Me. The six decks in this series (one per faction can all be built at the same time, excluding the jokers (you'll have 4x jokers from two Base Sets, so you can switch them in to whichever two decks you're playing with).

Remember that you can build your totems on opposing deeds if you control them. Use your Guiding Winds to buff your own bullets or reduce opposing bullets, potentially setting up Outgunned. Alexander Sequoia can be used to boot most opposing dudes with The Spiritual Society - you can even use this to set up a callout that can't be refused against a booted dude if you can catch them out of their home.

Your main shooting values are 10, J and Q.

  • You have a positive net income each turn even if you lose lowball, so you can build safely unless your opponent has enough control points to win. This gives you time to wait for the right cards in your hand and to play more dudes/deeds. Remember you can spread your deeds either side of your home to help spread his dudes out. The The Sloane Gang home only generates control points after victory is checked: this can buy you an extra turn.

I like this deck slot because it highlights ( what I think )the strength Of Shammys ( I never like the we make token thing probably because it's hard to balance and I hated and I mean HATED fortress builds that came out of it ) but this deck uses those tokens to engage the other player which is great and the other spells in the deck are fun effects . I don't like the starting party to much but that is always a struggle for me when it comes to wardens . Also as a heads up I am gonna build all these decks for my next learn to play event .

Thanks! Interested in any feedback as keen to review decks as more people get a chance to experiment with them. Glad that the intended focus on interaction is coming through.

Alternate ideas on starting posses very welcome - could experiment with Enapay for example. I think First People Starting posses are a bit easier now with Alexander Sequoia in the mix. He's attractively priced at 4GR for two proper influence that is safe from Full Moon Brotherhood, unlike Jake Smiley.

Alexander Sequoia is great! One of my favorite reloaded cards if I am being honest . For learn to play decks ( or for newer players ) I like having more deeds than dudes for a couple of reasons 1 . It gets the strategy of the game where fighting all the time isn't a good thing all the time 2. New players love having ghost rock 3. Shorter games so I don't have to hold on to their attention is long or they can try out more than one deck . I like Enapay as a card but I don't like starting him (that upkeep and value keeps him out of a lot of decks ) I think starting Geronimo might be fun . I have been talking about making a first people's deck that uses Spirits for a while now ( instead of just hatting it up) and I am going to do something in this vein .
