Hi everyone! I do not deserve credit for this deck, I am a bad deckbuilder and copied this (https://dtdb.co/en/decklist/2660/worlds-blockade-3-2-9-place) with only a few changes. I decided to post it, so if someone was interested in what I played they could find it by searching GenCon.
Round 1: Robert Campbell - Sloane Gang
Robert is starting Allie and has the Sloane Gang home, so he wants to be in the center. I am starting Enapay and have the Eagle Wardens home, so I want to be in the center. We both go to Town Square, and joke about how we are going to peacefully coexist there drawing cards and getting control points while building a happy little town. This lasts approximately 2 turns. We then jump in to the murder blender like noobs. I draw crazy hands with minimal stud while still consistently losing lowball and using Coachwhip to get rid of some dudes. It goes my way. (1-0)
Round 2: Rich Carter - Full Moon Brotherhood
Second bad matchup in a row. Carter and I build up (he plays a Huntsman Society, I play a couple), I lay out some deeds and we just jockey around a bit, before I drop Hustings to start the party. He drops Bobo and Tyx and we have our rumble. I had a bit of a misplay because I forgot he had Leon XP to lockdown my Mazatl when I ducked in to his deed to grab a second Turtle Guard, but I don't think it mattered too much. He starts the fight with way more stud than me but I have a Sun in Yer Eyes for Bobo and ANOTHER Sun in Yer Eyes for Tyx. He beats my hand with something like 1-2 Stud, 6 Draw. It spirals after that. FMB feels like a problem as I want Enapay to hang out in the middle for EW but don't want his trait blanked. (1-1)
Round 3: Erik Gustafsson- Gadgetorium
This one is intimidating for me, but I actually think I'm favored. He hits an early Auto Gatling for Wagner's and starts moving over there to build up. His bullets are awful so when he's only got one left I Kidnap in to his home for his trailing guy. He can come back to oppose it, but without the stud bonus and no Skeletons he has no chance. He builds up while I sift through my deck looking for Unprepared/Sun in Yer Eyes. He eventually comes out with two guys who I rumble with using Unprepared and kicking one out with Mariel to Sun in Yer Eyes the other and take him down. It starts to snowball after that with me Kidnapping in to his home every turn and him slowly bleeding influence. I end the game with something like 26 bounty spread on my dudes. (2-1)
Round 4: Brandon Schulte - Full Moon Brotherhood
I misplay this basically from the start, and lose the fastest game of Doomtown I've ever played. Brandon is starting Tattooed Man and is playing very aggressively to start a fight immediately. He goes to center after using FMB on Enapay, and then using the Ambrose he drew to FMB Mariel. For some reason I cannot explain I thought that meant I could not use Mariel to kick out Tattooed Bro. I then don't, and get absolutely smoked in a fight. I even go to Willa and he reminds me I can't. Womp womp, I suck. Glad no one saw this game. (2-2)
Round 5: Dustin Horn - Morgan Reg
A little more aggressive than the previous Morgan deck but still relying on some Yagn and the like to build up. Unprepared is great. We get in a series of shootouts over a few turns that I always seem to take home with the help of my Clubs. He plays cagey and hangs with it but can't overcome my draw. (3-2)
My round 3 opponent has a time win instead of a full win and I miss Top 8 by 0.16! >_>
Still, a glorious debut for my first event. This is getting long so I'll likely respond with some thoughts going forward, once I think of some clever ones.

Thoughts on Unprepared - Unprepared gets talked about a lot as "too good". I'm not a good enough player to weigh in on that one, but will say that gadget decks have basically no chance of failure when inventing and should need to be afraid of something! |

Great showing for your first event and a good write-up. Missing out on the top 8 like that is unfortunate, would have been nice to see an EW deck go one better than worlds and make the top cut this time round. I think the new stuff in 2T2D will give them a real boost so maybe next time?
