Who doesn't love science?!

Concept is pretty straightforward. Use the MCC ability to build up a decent economy that fuels your gadgets which you use to protect your economy. Add in a couple of Control elements like Rumors and Run 'em Down! for good measure. The draw structure is pretty tight but you're light on lots of good shootout actions, so you should be able to defend yourself but I wouldn't be too aggressive except for in uncommonly good situations.

The starting party is simple and streamlined, I like it: - Jarret: Your obvious lead shooter and the prime candidate for whatever Horse you pull first. - Irving: Surveys the land for the best (and cheapest) deed construction. - Kyle: Your top scientist. Your hardest gadget is difficulty 8 on the Flame-Thrower and he'll succeed that on all but 4 cards in the deck. - Roderick: Back-up scientist and relatively cheap influence. Be wary that if you lose Kyle early he has a decent chance to fail on the Flame-Throwers because of the 6-value structure in the deck.
