This won the Huddersfield tourney. It plays aggressively if needed against Morgan Landside, and yes starts with -1 income, loose lowball and you have 2GR in the bank. You HAVE to use Lillian to play deeds, she can play any deed for free using her.

I like the concept a lot but I don't see a reliable draw structure other than the weak straight flush build, odds of hitting it are better stretched over seven values. Gives you more ways to hit your straight flushes. How does it shoot or do you wait until your hex/gadget machine is running full steam? I'd assume the strategy would be to flood deeds but with only 10 that doesn't seem viable either. Not impugning the deck just fuzzy on playing strategy. It looks like a bunch of fun to play though.

Wow. This is... original. Couple questions:

  1. How many players were there in the tournament?

  2. You have 10 deeds and no Travis. Won't you have major financial problems in, like, every other game?

  3. What do you need the Force Field for? Even if you take a single casualty, it'll probably be Ramiro - your only stud.

  4. If the answer to the above question is Cheatin' Varmint - what if they don't cheat? Your shootout structure doesn't seem very strong, so all they need is a legal full house.

  5. Speaking of which, how often do you draw Straight Flush?

  6. Sun In Yer Eyes = gg? I don't see how you can do anything against it.

  7. You're playing Blood Curse but not Rumors. I understand that you need money, but you're cutting a major win condition.

tl;dr: Please explain the strategy of playing this deck. How do you, well, win?

Everyone is confused by this deck, trust me. It is very left field, but basically it is all about rank manipulation.

It went 3-0 at an 8 player tourney in Huddersfield, one of its victims being Mr FAQ Matt, do not a weak field!

I am not that worried what my hand rank is! The higher the better, but you then use the FF to raise your rank to theirs, then use cheating varmit and hex slinging to lower theirs thus winning. The curses are to nerf their bullets, thus making them more likely to cheat.

People see a booted Lillian and come after me, this was described as ultra aggressive deck by the Morgan Landslide deck, against slower decks if I can get one turn of build in then I'm even happier.

This deck has major financial issues, which is why I will be changing to a new deck as my heart can't take it, you CANNOT run Travis as if you loose low ball you would have zero cash not able to pay for Ramiro if you need him.

One deed is all you need to get up and running, with 10 deeds you have a good chance of pulling one.

Finally remember Lillian will be bringing in free gunslingers into the shootout, these are my first casualties if things go wrong.

Yeah, the same problem I see is also lack of deeds. with only 10 of them, it's quite easy to not see one in your starting hand, at which point you're dead in the water.

I'd remove Kyle and the Gadgets in favour or Travis, more deeds and perhaps a Make the Smart Choice to be able to run away when help is not coming. Force Field doesn't work with Lillian's ability anyway.

Correct, you have to pay for FF, however your opponent never can tell what will happen next vs this deck, remember it is very left field and people simply play badly against it. Hell half the time I dont know what it will do ;-)

Gadgets are in cause I promised Jimi my next deck would run mad science and this was what I came up with :-D

Its fun, its wierd and it went 3-0.

Speaks for itself really that does.

Looking at the deck list now it seems obvious that the opponent needs to go straight in and steal the deeds to deny Andy income if at all possible. But I played against this deck in the tournament (I'll post my own very newbie-ish Morgan deck) and I just saw a weird selection of starters with Lillian looking very threatening and had no idea what to do first!

I didn't try and kill Lillian off as I suspected a trap and I eventually sussed that I needed to get control of his deeds, but too late. I seem to remember I got into a situation where I couldn't move my James Ghetty from controlling Andy's Undertaker or I was going to lose, and I couldn't do much else either.

As the first game of my first tournament it was a bit of a baptism of fire! Though a very friendly one that I enjoyed a lot.

Kirsty, that is a spot on analysis, if you had been a bit more aggressive on deed control early you would have had a good win chance, your deck came out nicely tbh.

Lillian is a trap, but one that has to be taken

Excellent! Well done and well spotted with Lillian and the Hired Help. I really like this - it is a complete trap - even for yourself :D

I'm thinking about this whole Force Field + Hex Slingin' setup, or in general an uber gadgets+spells-powered dude, and the inability to protect him with Hidin' In Shadows makes me sad. Don't want to fail pulls. Same problem with Telepathy Helmet. We need a similar effect at a higher value.

Yes, that is an issue i agree. However i spread the FFs and people tend to smack ramiro not lilly with unprepared.

Also i shadow walk back in from whips if needed. However the protection levels are low, another reason why i wont be running this at a tourney again as it stands

Really different deck, I feel like it's one that you need to try or see in action to really tell how it's going to work but I can see the point that not getting a deed early enough could cause serious problems. The deck seems to assume that you've got extra cash so you need that income pronto. Kudos for originality though!

Recently I decided to build a Morgan huckster deck, tested it and made some changes, decided to start Lillian, ran into some new issues and found some untrivial solutions for them, like swapping Irving with Ramiro to protect Lil, and finally published my Morgan 7+8+10 Lillian deck.

Now I'm thinking about ways to avoid Coachwhip, and that Paralyze Mark is somehow the least useful spell I've got. Looking for fresh ideas, I stumbled upon your deck that I originally dismissed as being silly and unviable.

Force Field! Man, this is genius! I see now that this deck is waaay ahead of me, it has answers to all the problems I've encountered only now! Very smart design! Thank you for this excellent concept!
