Learn to Play deck from Pine Box Entertainment: http://pineboxentertainment.com/learn-to-play/

for demos that 'seed with a deed,' e.g. put 3D Yan Li's Tailoring into your initial starting hand.

A good 'full starting hand' for the Demo is: 3D Yan Li's Tailoring 3C Sun in Yer Eyes 6C Faster on the Draw 6H Winchester Model 1873 QC It's Not What You Know...

Erik Samson with nothing to trigger any of his card text? Shurely shome mistake?

Normally, yes. But this is a very basic Learn to Play deck. It runs a tight 3,6,8 structure. As a learn to play deck, it's not concerned with spells, gadgets, kung fu, etc. Mystical/Melee doesn't run much 'vanilla keyword' (e.g. not relying on Hymns, Fu, etc.) on those values. We wanted to demonstrate the principles of a good starting posse: 5 dudes, 3+ influence, one stud, useful traits and abilities. Of the other non-starting dudes, most are too expensive and Ramiro is a bit overpowered for what we're trying to demonstrate.

This deck and the accompanying Outlaws deck are designed to complement each other. PBE will be posting accompanying tutorials, but these decks are designed to DEMO the game, while being balanced against each other.

But for DEMO purposes, it's set up so that the Demo plays the LD, and the New Player plays the Outlaws. It's not set up to 'win games' but to demonstrate some key actions and mechanics. A 'tuned deck' might well start Ramiro and use Erik as 'on value' support, or swap out Clementine for Wendy.

I get that, I just think that a lot of newbies will get confused/thrown off by encountering text that doesn't apply and frustrated by never drawing Melee/Mystical cards.

Oh, didn't see the bit about the new player playing the Outlaws - still think it would be good to have two newbie-friendly decks in case there are two newbies or the newbie wants to be the sheriff.

Shit davido that's just a good hand period!

@jordan caldwell it allows for a set of scripted plays and actions that show off most of what Doomtown is about. Ditto the TSG deck.
