The name gives the game away. This is a deadly deck that aims to take out one opponent each round, then run. Its hard to play if your top dude dies each round. Ideally this deck wants to put a legendary holster on Varillis. This makes him a 5 stud and only 8 cards wont get an instant ace each shootout using the holster. If your really keen, you can use his ability and ace the two biggest dudes but you wont be able to use the holster again as its unique. However there are enough shotguns for Varillis to carry on his shenagans. There are two holsters and 3 doomsday supplies to help you find the holster. However, if the cards arent with you, a shot gun works nearly as well. And if you use Varillis' ability, you can always get another shoty. It does hurt losing Varillis, but Romero does make a suitable substitute. Use Make the smart choice and or the Highbinder hotel to get your stud out of the fight after he has done his thing. Why risk a cheating resolution when you can win the slow game. As you are running primarily 2s and 3s, as long as your holster weilding dude has 2+ bullets, you should be fine. So basically, the strategy is this : Get into a shootout, ace a dude then run. Wear your opponent down rather than get into a big showdown early on. Make the smart choice and highbinder hotel can get you out of a fight. Muggin, ambush and kidnappin and even Judge Harry can force shootouts. I ussually use Stan and Agent Provateur to put a bounty on Stan using home ability round one. Then I have Stan and Varillis do a job. Stan uses his ability to put a bounty on your target then boots home. Then Varillis holsters them, then goes home via smart choice or the hotel. Alternativly, Stan is fun as a solo dude using Burn em out. If you time it right, if the job is opposed then their dudes have to boot home to stop you, and you just run away. If the job is not opposed you ace a card from the opponent and get a bounty for stan for next round. Christine has often been the MVP as with a shotgun, and maybe war paint, she becomes pretty deadly. I used to have Stone Idol as well, but took it out. Not sure she is as good without the idol. Something to play around with still. If you dont hit your holster of shot gun round one or two, be patient, build up your resources, lay deeds, get goods or dudes, and strike when your ready. The deck does fight well without holster/shot gun, but cheating is likely and punishments will probally follow.
