Because The Treadmill is a boring place to be.

The idea here is to maximize on the new card, Alone in the Dark.

But maybe not in the expected way; instead of going deep on AitD (high value, grit reduction, etc.), we go wide.

Damn near everything in this deck is allocated towards neutralizing the opposing posse, to hopefully let each piece of the deck cover the other's weaknesses. Broadly lumped into 3 categories:

  • The Hard Nerf: Pistol Whip, Pinned Down, and Bolts o' Doom; this category neutralizes all but the biggest of dudes, with no consideration to their stat line. Petunia is obviously the intended caster for Bolts, due to 4 influence w/ Ramiro.
  • The Grit Nerf: Soul Blast and Alone In The Dark; this category neutralizes dudes that we're able to succeed grit checks against. Good for dealing with a lot of starter dudes. Maria is our intended caster for these, as she will scale with DMA.
  • The Chip Nerf: Faster on the Draw, Fleet-Footed, and Nightmare at Noon; this category is mostly focused around giving -bullet effects to the opposing posse, for anything we can't cover with the two above.

Some risks:

  • Starting rock isn't great. This is offset by DMA. Assert that TS control with your 21 clubs.
  • Petunia fails Bolts w/ Pistol Whip pull. Cheyenne can mitigate this. Obviously, no mitigating against Soul Blast pulls unless vs. something like Wilby.

That's a pretty neat deck idea!

I like the fact that this lets you nerf bullet catchers or strong shooters with Alone in the Dark since you can use your other clubs to selectively handle other threats.

I do agree that your starting rock is not ideal, but DMA should help that...and you probably want to start with Maria getting bounty to get her going.

Yeah Maria is the intended first couple DMAs in TS, at least (once she's at 4, you probably start going wider for the CP, but it may depend on their board and if you really want to hit something with AitD or SB).
