Tourney Report: Five of us came from Knoxville to play in this event and they hosted a wonderful event with 18 people! I hope we can do just as well for our event on September 19th! (shameless plug over)

First Round vs 4th Ring. The player I was playing was young and new to the game so we took it real slow and he learned quite a bit! He got a 5 of a kind using a Doyle's Hoyle to save McTavish. After that was able to Hang him and the huckster to take it.

Game 2 vs 4th Ring Control (our playgroup) This monster of a deck was created by my friend and has been in circulation for some time. Two of our guys brought this thing to the tourney (the inventor and a mutual friend of ours, strong pilots both!). He went to get Puppet and Soul Blast with fun time Freddy....what a fun choice to make. He gets soul blast on one of his guys and my first two actions are deed then instruments. At this point he knows waiting to attack could prove fatal and charges into the wolves den that is fortress. I get quads honest to his cheating full and kick the brute out with Lepus killing the huckster left in the shootout. I then hang the second huckster next turn for the win.

Round 3 The Deck I just played with the original inventor and Pilot! (our playgroup) In testing we went 50/50 in this matchup (to be fair I think 4th Ring Control is the better deck). With the hands we had this game was going to end turn 3 one way or the other. I didn't play deeds and sat at the house gearing up for hangings. The first hanging was a vicious fight ending with a dead huckster (the job almost failed and with that would have lost me the game). A gunslinger killed the other Huckster to seal the game.

Round 4 vs Morgan Horses (again our playgroup) This game was a blood bath right out of the gate and stayed that way the entire time. I failed a hanging late and was on the back foot when it came to bodies. Then time was called and we did our three actions...the game went to him on the fourth tie breaker! (intense three actions and an awesome game!)

Round 5 vs Desolation Row (a local guy....I get to play outside of my playgroup again! WoHoo!) This game decided if I got to play in or not. He started the fixer and kept him on the board with pearl handed revolver (good times). I had to sit back and pick my battle because my hand would not allow me to fight. Sanford died trying to ambush Jake Smiley (yeah strong draw structure!). His Jake ate a rope and the next turn he made a good play kidnapping Philip who was in instruments and Philip goes. With him tapped out he thought I was going to lose. I play the Steven I had in my hand the entire game to take one of his deeds to take the game! (close game)

So now the play in round to get into the final (just so happens to be the Morgan Horse deck that got me). And who is this play in round against? THE SAME GUY I PLAYED IN ROUND 2!

Play in Round vs MORE 4th RING! Game1 This time when he used Freddy I threw puppet across the room (getting laughs out of those watching and him as well). I sit at home and don't play deeds and geared up for hangings and two hangings later game1 went to me. Game2 I joke around before this game saying he won't need Freddy because puppet will be in his hand. He does not use Freddy and I say well Damnit (everyone laughs). This game goes like the first but with two flight of the Lepus was able to keep the brute from soaking casualties to allow me to kill the posse defending the hanging and ace the target at the same time to seal game 2!

Final vs Morgan Horses (same playgroup.....REVENGE!) He first game he got a horrible draw so he just sent bodies into my group and ended the game quickly to get to game 2.

Game2

This game was bloody on both sides. The best moment is him booting to my R&D to try to use it to get ghost rock. Elander is there then my Tommy boots to join him. I make the pull to try to discard them both (I really need Elander gone). The next turn I win low ball so make the pull for R&D and pull a joker. I am sad for a moment but then realize I can make it a club....BOOM! We had to end shortly after that and my good friend shook my hand for the tourney!

The tourney was good fun and the people running it did a bang up job! See you guys at Gencon!

Interesting deck, I'll try it out. Why do you keep Andrew Burton and Rafi Hamid? Do you change your starting posse based on the matchup?
