This is the deck I played to the semifinals in the 2026 Online Name a Card Event.

The deck performed fine. I ended up getting eliminated by Prodigy in the semifinals.

All in all, it is a simple Law Dogs aggro deck. Put some bounty out, get in fights, have good shootout actions, stack up some good cards that force shootouts.

This deck elected to include a higher number of off value cards with the intention of making Bottom Dealin' stronger.

When the deadline to submit my deck was rapidly approaching, I still had not made a decision as to what to play and found myself with some deep analysis paralysis. I rolled a d20 to decide which deck to play. Landed on this one.

I originally built this deck in a series of decks to teach some new players in my city how to play. I made some basic decks, that were intended to be simple and have no jobs, no spells, and no kung fu. Then I made a wave of "intermediate" decks where I allowed any 1 of those 3 restricted elements into the deck. Naturally this one selected jobs as the extra mechanic.

It's good to see that the 'simple' decks like Law Dogs aggro still perform well in a tournament setting. Joan McGruder feels like she's a bit out of place in this deck - I would have doubled up on El AnĂ³nimo. Did she ever hit play?

I wouldn't fault you for doubling up on El Anomino. Heck, even doubling up on the Judge.

Yes she did. She worked out fine. I didn't really have a big master plan for Joan. She just has good numbers, is a stud, is "permanent", and has influence.

In terms of changes, there are a lot of directions you could go. Some examples include:

-Loosening the structure even more and leaning into the Bottom Dealin'. Like going 16*2 + a smattering of other stuff. I didn't state it up above, but one of the "restrictions" I gave myself was to keep all the learner decks to be simple 3-value structures, which is why I didn't stray too far off that in design.

Focusing the on-value deeds to double up on strong ones. Something like -1 Pettigrew/Steph and Gertie's +1 2nd Bank -1 Land Purchase +1 Yan Li's and the 8s are pretty OK as-is. But doubling up on Circle M Ranch or The Gamorra Gazette would be a viable choice. If I was gonna do that on the 8's, I would probably cut the Pat's Perch.

Trimming the deeds down to like 10 would be a viable choice to include more shootout plays. Notable shootout plays I would consider are Pinned Down, Unprepared, Nightmare at Noon, Vamoosin, Pistol Whip

Cutting an 8 of spades to double up on the Judge.

Going into the event, I was very skeptical about Mugging. I was really considering just changing it out for more Bottom Dealin' and/or Fannin the Hammer

After playing through the event, I can say Mugging is a great card and I was totally sleeping on how solid it is. I played it often and it was relevant.

Bravo on a solid placing with a very solid deck! I think Mugging is a great card to start a fight, especially as more and more control and gadget decks pop up.
