It's a control deck. His initial dudes either make the deeds and run away with Make The Smart Choice / Mustang, or Pistol whip them. |

Yeah, it is a control deck. You never fight unless you have to or you are going to Pistol Whip them home with your first action. You build and run away. Eventually you build enough deeds to have an insurmountable economy and force your opponent into a game state where they can never win. |

Is this pretty much the same thing as the gencon winning morgan deck? |

Yes. The deck that Fox learned how to play the game with is virtually this deck. I've made some changes to the deck since I gave it to him to learn how to play the game with. |

Can you give some basic strategy tips? When should you get into shootouts? Never? If you do get into a shootout what are my main values that im looking for? Sorry im really new to the game and have enjoyed playing this deck but would just like some tips. |

That said, if you win lowball, you have the ability to interact in shootouts. Make the Smart Choice on yourself to run away is the only mode of that card that I use. If you are trying to get people off of your deeds, you can use shootouts and pistol whip offensively. If you can call someone out and they are alone (as in nobody else is there and nobody can boot to join it from an adjacent location) call them out and pistol whip them before they get an action. This is generally reserved for scenarios that win you the game that turn and trying to stay alive for a turn. If you are in a scenario that you need to win a shootout (worst case scenario) try and pull a flush with deeds. I'll post more soon when I'm not using a phone. |

i don't understand why folks don't start with Max Baine. Max along with Outfit card equals any deed for 0-1 ghost rock. |

He's a big target for Kidnappin', Ambush, and other targeted kill cards. Also, if you don't draw a Make the Smart Choice in your opening hand you kinda can't afford to just leave him hanging out there booted at a deed. If you lose him then it's pretty much gg. Also Max+Outfit = any deed for 0-1 GR, plus his 3GR Upkeep = any deed for 3-4GR. Irving Patterson+Outfit = any deed for 0-3GR. |

You want to start as many guys as possible while still having enough GR to start out your game smoothly. Max Baine does not help with this style of play and ends up being more of liability than anything during the early turns of the game. |
The idea is to play lots of deeds, right? Do you have enough dudes to defend? Or don't you need any defense? I guess you don't fight much, do you?
I have heard of dudes & deeds, but this is not the same right?
