didn't find any clowns in report. does your meta lack them?
Since Bad Medicine was released Clown decks have gone from pretty good to just a cute distraction. Yagn's and Mugging destroy it.
How do you pay for your deeds? Ok, you have BenWash for the first turn, but what happens than? In your write up you descriped that you used different starting posses. Could you comment a bit on your choices . As I´m a beginner that would be interesting.
I'll start by saying this is not an easy deck to pilot. This version is the culmination of 6 months of heavy play and testing. The deck can start every single dude it has except for the Allie's and the starting posse's vary wildly.
Being able to run this properly involves being able to read not only your meta for current deck trends but also other players. For example, I know that Kirsty, one of the UK p[layers favours hyper aggresive heavy cheating punishment decks, against her, I don't even bother playing deeds as I know she'll be coming at me from turn 1. Against Scott, (one of the best players in the world for my money) I know he likes the long game I'd probably go for a 5 or 6 starting cash set up to ensure I can drop some deeds. I know he's too smart to try and take the first 1 or 2 so that;s safe income for me.
This is only two examples, but without being able to accurately predict what you're playing and who you're playing you can go wrong very quickly.
I think I set up a different posse in 90% of my games over the last few months and default back to the one listed here if I deem a change unnecessary.
This deck can play crash aggro, a waiting game or a mid range game as it sees fit, but only if you know what to expect as you sit down.
This week I made several meta based assumptions:
- All Morgan Decks would be Gadgets - Yagn's beats Clowntrol
- All 108 Righteous Bandits would be Slide - Aggro 108 works better out of Worldly Desires
- Den and Des Row would be running fairly aggro 357 builds - This is still one of the best value sets for Sloane
- There would be no Law Dogs unless Vince was attending and he'd be playing a Blessed/Hex mix deck - People still seem to think they are weak
Every single one of these predictions was correct and so I set up and played accordingly.
High level play is as much about knowing people as it is about knowing the game. I encourage all plays to read as many tournament reports as possible even if it's just the deck breakdown to see what the game is doing around the world.
Next iteration changes will be to add a single copy of Companhursts and probably a switch from Carlton to Asakichi as a default set up - still using 19 cash put generating an extra 1 per turn from turn 1 to ease the pressure a bit.
Ha! Time to play something less aggressive I think... Congrats on winning the badge.
@kirstyWe'll see, I 'm not sure you could contain ourself beyond turn 2 though :)
@Whizzwang Probably not! :D
Are you sure you want to delete this decklist?
