Aggressive shooter that should be able to thin down quickly, to achieve maximum possible casualties, and deck cycling.

Generally, I'd Send willa to get my Influence for me, and get the ball rolling.

Why mark of pestilence? And what do you mean by send willa to get influence?

No space for 8 of clubs?

Willa is worth 1inf at the bunkhouse and she works well with the home ability. If she gets aced or discarded you're not out anything.

Why Mark of Pestilence Mark of Pestilence, is so I can go in with Forced Quarantine, and boot everyone. I'll be booted because it's a job. But, if I have Mark, my first action will be to boot all other unbooted dudes.

Why? Pistol Whip, Wendy, Outgunned, Point Blank, and a host of other shootout actions that require your dude to boot.

I have, simply gone in, and nullified a healthy swath of shootout actions that could be used.

I don't want to use 8. Why 8?

Paralysis Mark? That's too slow in this deck. In a control deck, that doesn't actively go and start jobs, that's not worth it.

This'll Hurt? No, I don't want to punish the hand, and then maybe lower than hand rank. I want to just lower the hand rank. Maybe I want to do it, even when they aren't cheating. I'd pay an extra 5 Ghost Rock.

Tummy Twister? It's not good. +1 upkeep seems good, but in practice, people were able to work around it. They wouldn't go to the deed, or they would go there, and it would continue to sit there. Why is that bad? Because that's on value for my shootout hands. I can't have all of the cards on value playable. Something needs to cycle.

That's why I have Incubation off value. Being off value, means that it doesn't interfere with my ability to pull shootout hands.

What do I mean by send Willa To get Influence. Well, She can use the home ability, she can go to the bunkhouse. She can do both. She costs 1 Rock. She is a starter, who is also not in the value scheme, which means that I only have one starter that conflicts with the value scheme, which is essential. I wanted to have as many starters that weren't pulling from the shootout values as possible.

I feel Mark of Pestilence is a very overlooked card, and combining it with a job is a great way to use it since you don't care so much about it booting your dudes too.

So, the strategy is to start a shootout and boot everyone, and then once that has concluded start the job? Or do you just use the mark during the job?

Feb 11, 2016 madscience

The strategy is to run the job. If you have mark of pestilence great. They will see it coming, and you boot everyone possible. That means you can then use incubation, or if they are at deeds, pick them off with other dudes, (provided anyone is left after a shootout)

More than likely, They will adjust so that they don't become crippled by mark. And that is the true goal. Spread them out thin. It makes killing them easier

I can't vibe with Incubation with this deck. I get that it's a condition or w/e, I just dont feel theres a big pay off based on the effects that occur when it is on someone.

Incubation.

You don't care about the value reduction.

You care that it reduces influence.

You care that you can play it for free, if you need to.

You care that it can trigger Jia's ability.

You care that it is another tool to setup Forced Quarantine.

You care that to get rid of it, they will have to boot the dude to get rid of it. Meaning that if they don't boot at home, they now have a dude that can't refuse being called out.

Don't read too much into it's inclusion. It's not supposed to be the coup de grĂ¢ce, It's not supposed to be anything other than another tool in a toolbox full of influence reduction.

Maybe it's easier to play rumors and complete your straight flush?

Feb 12, 2016 madscience

Rumors only reduces influence if they leave their home. Sure, it's easier to play, but the fact that incubation is a condition, is the other point. 7 conditions > 4 conditions.

will test and see what happens.

I've been testing, and I'm very pleased with everything but the dudes. At this point, I'm probably looking at needing to lose one of the Avie's, and the Tattooed Man, to allocate more space for influence, for 108 deeds style decks.

Very much like the idea of this deck. Been looking at trying some variations of Jia Mein (Exp.1) myself.

For now I've taken this list and made a few minor tweaks by trying Deliberate Infection instead of Incubation. This enables the chance of straight flush, is a re-usable cheating card (all be it cash dependant), can reduce influence to allow another Forced Quarantine and is still outside draw structure so you don't necessarily mind if it says in play.

I also feel that Nicodemus Whateley could be nice late game if the main idea is to pile in and boot people down with Mark of Pestilence.

Will see how it goes :)

Man this deck never wins lowball haha but im not worried about it. I've also switched some things around, enjoying the shell a lot.

Mar 08, 2016 madscience

You will find with a lot of my decks, that I just don't care about lowball. I plan my starters around losing lowball, I plan my price point of the deck around not winning lowball.

Glad you are having a good time with it. I hope to revisit the idea after my Outlaw event in a couple of weeks.
