Baratheon 9

After a few failed attempts at deck building, I just won my first game ever with a self-made deck with this deck, so I thought I'd publish and ask for suggestions. The starting posse centers around Wylie with the goal of raising bounties with the law dogs ability to pump him up. I give him either the legendary holster or shotgun, whichever I draw first to take advantage of his high bullets. If I get a Tin Star and Faithful Hound on him, then protect with hiding in the shadows he can be unstoppable. Lucy is great for using the law dogs ability with 2 influence.

The draw structure is mostly 4s (14) and 8s (13) with a small chance to occasionally pull a Dead Mans Hand (3 ace of spades, 4 ace of clubs, 4 eight of clubs, 4 eight of spades, 3 jack of diamonds).

Having a few out-of-town strikes are great for easy money. If they want to contest, they have to commit and typically boot a dude and they don't get control points or an ability to exploit. AND they're on value.

Would love some suggestions and thoughts!

I like this. People won't expect to see Wylie starting because of his price tag. I'd recommend in the Aces solidifying a little more. Your cool combo here is Wylie and make em sweat which can boot any wanted dude. As it stands you won't see it consistently at all. I'd up that to 4x personally.

4s and 8s work, though 3 Prescott's don't. You're gonna be stuck with dead cards a lot, and he's of marginal use unless you can make a stud out of him. Throw in a Sanford Taylor if you're sticking with fours, drop the second prescott and add a bluetick.

You're running a lot of goods and actions that are off value, which is going to hurt your shootout structure since you really only have 12 8s (remember, Wylie starts, you won't be drawing him). I'd recommend going into a "back up value" and putting about 10 cards there. With the structure as it is I'd recommend aces with 2x Pony Express and 1x Bank of California. Though there's a DMH chance, you're not built around it so probably drop 1x Jackson's Strike, 1x Undertaker and Yan Li's Tailoring since that's off value.

If you take my suggestions, you'll need a couple more dudes and back up studs in case something goes wrong. Most of your dudes are low value too so you'll want to have a dude or two to survive some of the value-based actions. I recommend adding in a Gang Yi and a Wendy, who are two of LD's best resources for shootout decks right now. You can drop Tin Star, since bounty hunter call outs won't be refused anyway and it's off value and probably Mustang. 1x cards don't help a ton cuz you won't consistently see them. On that note, I'd push the legendary holster into another shotgun, keep it consistent, shotgun will consistently do the trick more for you with Wylie's bullets.

On the clubs - 4x bounty hunter. You don't need rumors, you can shoot them to death and it can't be refused. Also makes the 1x Kidnappin unnecessary because you can kidnap anyone with the BH. I'd recommend ridding of A Coach Comes To Town, because again it's off value and doesn't lend itself to your Big Wylie shootout strategy. Some pistol whips, or sun in yer eyes to help with your shootouts in case you face some opposition would help here. or The Stakes Just Rose, if you think that's everywhere and you just want to ensure Wylie comes back in.

Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for the help! Those are awesome suggestions. I basically did everything you said with one or two minor tweaks. After changing up my deeds, I found myself a bit low at 11 so I added The Pharmacy so that I can unboot Wylie after using Make 'em Sweat.

I opted for 2 The Stakes Just Rose and 1 Sun in Yer Eyes over Pistol Whips because with Make 'em Sweat I can lower their bullets and keep them in the shootout, which I want to do because with my bullet advantage I should be able to ace them.

My only concern is money. Wendy and Gang Yi aren't cheap, and neither are 4 Bounty Hunter. Getting rid of A Coach Comes to Town takes away my plan for fast money. I just have to hope that I can keep Wylie alive long enough to play some good deeds and that if I do need my backup dudes I can afford them.

Really looking forward to trying this new deck out. Thanks again for all the advice. Check out the updated version and let me know what you think!
