Went 3-1 in swiss, losing the 4th game to Luke playing Law Dogs, then had to beat Luke in the finals to win it all. Overall record 5-1.

Will gladly answer strategy questions or give a detailed tournament report if people want it.

I have made Hot Lead Flyin' decks in Sloane, Oddities, Shamans, and Kung Fu, but I never thought of Morgan as a viable option. Well done! :)

A couple questions:

1) So why Morgan? Did you use the outfit ability often, and fought wall-on-wall at deeds rather than the town sqaure, gaining tons of bounty money in the process?

2) Who dies first on your side? And who contests opponent's deeds? How about starting Travis and Nathan Shane instead of Jake and J.W. Byrne?

3) Why do you keep those 9' dudes around? They don't trigger off Jon when pulled. Just not enough quality studs at lower values?

4) How did it fare against Control Clowns?

1) I used Morgan with Irving almost every time I played a deed. If the deed I wanted to play is in town, I usually made sure I was controlling town square first, but playing a Morgan deck that shoots actually makes it much easier to use the outfit ability because you don't have to worry about Irving getting attacked while booted. Having money to play dudes is key, which is why this works so well out of Morgan.

2) Who dies first can depend on a few things, the main people to protect early are Irving and JW, the others are mostly expendable. I pretty much always send Jake into fights unless I am certain I will need his influence. If I have HLF I want them to take 3 casualties if possible, so on a tie, I can lose Jon or Jacq, but on a full loss I have to toss Jake to get 3 casualties out of HLF. I can't start Nathan Shane because he doesn't pull on HLF for half my cards, the other starter MUST be above a 9 imo. I wish there was a good replacement for Jon above a 9, but there really isn't.

3) The 9 value dudes are your replacement dudes for HLF and your backup shooters. I play them ASAP. Arvid in particular is amazing with his 3 stud and 2 influence. They could have been any dudes value 8 or above, but these 3 dudes really stood out to me as being the best bang for the buck.

4) This deck is made with the idea to beat control clowns, the only time it really has trouble is if they are playing No Turning Back (see Jon's St. Louis Sheriff winning deck), and even then it is possible if you can draw out the NTB then play HLF on the next round. The general idea is immediately gain control of town square so that you can call them out if they ever move there, control deeds they play if possible, and walk into their home when you draw the kidnappin and take out their hex stack. Pinned Down and Coachwhip are also key to avoid the Brute from absorbing HLF. Always remember though to have someone unbooted in town square, have more people there then they can paralyze or phantasm. My economy is better, so if they hide too long, I just build up more and more.

Final note if I didn't stress this enough, but controlling town square is pretty much always key, the bigger the fight the better, I rarely want to be fighting without every guy but Irving in the fight. The only time controlling town square isn't all important is against Oddities. Against oddities I actually found the best move was staying home unless you feel really good about a fight, and kidnappin their influence dudes in their home, taunting them into booting all their aboms home so they have no influence.

What is the purpose of having the 2 4th ring dudes in there?

Bobo is an obvious choice for any shooting deck on 6s, cheap stud, probably not going to keep him after sundown. Becomes even better against 4th Ring.

I chose Mister Miss because he was cheaper than my morgan dudes, and had 2 bullets which I preferred over Makaio's 0. I actually put a Winchester on him a couple times in the tournament, threatening another 3 stud. I never did get to use his ability though, but I feel like it could at least potentially be useful.

I might have to toy around with a deck that uses hotlead + max bain since he increases the value of dudes at ranches,
