This deck is built on one specific combo, that of Holy Roller / Shield of Faith plus Force Field.
The idea is that you raise your rank to theirs, so both take a casualty and then reduce your to zero. This combines with Pinned Down to kill your opponents best dude.
Technological Exhibition helps you find your Force Fields or makes you money with Disengenuine Currency Press. A Slight Modification protects you, as none of your gadgets need to boot to be useful.

I really like this idea, as Holy Roller is very strong but can leave a solo shooter vulnerable to Unprepared or Sun in Yer Eyes. A Slight Modification is an excellent solution, hope this does well. If you wanted a more defensive build along these lines, Sentinel is worth considering - you can effectively put your opponent on a clock. Censure might be worht considering too and it is on value and gives you some Cheatin' punishment you can use in lowball/shootouts? |

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but does that combo actually work? When draw hands are tied, there still is a winner and an loser. If you used Force Field to raise your hand rank to the level of your opponent, it becomes the lowest possible hand of that rank (see rulebook, page 23-24). So you would be the loser, while your opponent is the winner and won't take a casualty because of Shield of Faith. Or am I missing something? |

"Reduce your casualties this round by 1" from Shield of Faith only applies to the player using Shield of Faith's ability. So you'd have tied hand ranks = both taking one casualty, with the Shield of Faith player's casualties reduced to 0 and their opponent remaining on 1 casualty. Apologies if I've misunderstood the query! :) |

Yes you did, but no apologies needed. :) Shield of Faith specifically says 'except as a casualty for losing the shootout', and because the opponent would be the winner (see page 24-25), I think he wouldn't take a casualty. Is there a ruling on this? |

Ah, good catch! Will work with Holy Roller but not Shield of Faith. :) |

Shield of Faith will still reduce your casualties by one for the round that it is cast. However, if your opponent wins, they also don't take casualties. Essentially, it would make casualties 0 for each player if your opponent wins the tie. Your idea works great with Holy Roller though! |
What about Stewart Davidson in place of Philip Swinford?
