The Event
This is a series of decks that was played for the online name-a-card event. The tournament had flexible deck-building rules, which I used to run a revolver setup.
The pre-cut decks (in order of play) were LD, EN, AN, FM, and FP. With 4 wins (LD/EN/FM/FP) and 1 loss (AN), the OL deck will get a chance in the cut.
The Deck
"Harvester starts are a trap." - Ironcache, 2020
While that statement might be true, Ivor is a ridiculously high power-level card. This deck was attempting to take that, and push it to its limit. All abominations that he can revive, bury non-DMH horrors for money, dig them up with one of the 7 Ivor draw chances (Ivor + Hired Guns). Devolve to DMH.

The Game
Round 4 vs. Alotoaxoltols
This match up worked in my favor. First up, I knew I was facing a fellow DMH setup deck, so I started The Brute in place of Skinwalker for bonus economy while setting up. Also, my opponent was running Hamshanks (to help make Ivor cheap), and a Parish (which I happily camped on to fuel my game plan; my deck should have it).
That said, HoMF DMH is no joke. My opponent and I had several skirmishes, and both drew DMH several times through the course of the game. One big difference was The Brute really helped dampen the blow of my opponents DMH draws, whereas mine chipped away at his board state.
I caught Stevie with a call-out (from FMB ability) at a point, and he did not survive it. His deck held off very well with Amazing Grace on Father Diamond, but a large economic and CP pressure from my built-up Epidemic, I played out both The Ghostly Gun and Bogie Man in a forced shootout there, and pulled another DMH against Randall and Daomei to end it.
The Lessons
- Be very cautious of playing out DMH cards, but also don't be afraid to use them to push for the win.
- Ivor is a degenerate scum. Ban this sick filth.

Drawing a natural, legal HR 11, at no cost outside deck construction, is a hard thing to concretely value, but definitely has strong value. It's hard to say if growing card pool is the cause; what makes the values strong is a lot of cards that have been around a good while (Pedro, This'll, Hired Guns, Wiles). Newer cards like Daomei/faceless has helped, but Dulf/Lucy have been available in their place for a long time, and could be viewed as transient in any faction. |

It might be a product merely of people taking time to explore Dead Man's recently; perhaps it has been decent for awhile. |

DMH decks do all have a unified weakness in that their force fight options are pretty limited, without importing them... Maybe time for slide to try and make a reappearance? |

DMH definitely seems to be a deckbuilding trend at the moment. I'm not sure what's triggered it though. Daomei has been around for ages - since his release along with the rest of the 108/Anarchists I've had a DMH deck built for them. |

For some reason, I had it in my head that Daomei was more recent than AN intro set. Even less fathomable then. Again, could merely be that players are simply starting to explore it as an option now, and maybe it's always been good. |
I have some sympathy on Ivor Hawley (Exp.1) who remains very strong and frustrating to face even post errata! Interesting to see various Dead Man's Hand decks near the top tables late in Swiss, perhaps reflecting the growing card pool?
