So, this was my take on the protective side of the Sloane Gang for the Epitaph tournament.
Pretty straight forward deck packing lots of nasty shootout actions with deeds to build a town, dudes to protect it and Allie to get things going. The real deal of the deck - bullet reduction with TYWM, didn't really factor into any of the games, but it was my intended answer to having a lot of draw bullets and no hand rank manipulation. I sad to say that the MVP was the 2 off value Unprepared...
Went 2-2 on the day losing a close game to MCC Quarterman and by playmistake to 4R control piloted by a better player.

It was indeed a close call between Maria and Antheia, but the bullet was the end factor. With Takin' Ya With Me not in my hand, Antheia had been better. I didn't need Jake Smiley at any point. The active influence is much better, I believe and GR isn't an issue with this home - unless you're playing deed light. In that case I would recommend another home... IMO, you don't play Protection Racket for the CP, which, very rarely becomes an option. |

Cheers! Thanks for the point about Protection Racket, which I'll confess I have more experience of playing against than with, good to get a seasoned perspective. |

Nice deck - I am especially curious to see what people do with this home, because I feel it not only has a lot of unexplored potential, but is overshadowed a bit by some of the homes released in the same set. Question: How was you economy flow during the game? I ask because I think the Protection Racket can lend itself towards an explosive early-midgame which allows for the deck plan to accommodate strange or otherwise expensive cards. For example, I could maybe see Vasilis the Boar having a home in here, or some other off-faction 1+ influence dude. |

I totally agree, Jordan. I think the true power of this home is the economy. Compared to Justice In Exile and Full Moon Brotherhood, you only need a deed to earn 2 GR. Doesn't even need to be in town (after 1. sundown). With 13 deeds and no grifter I had 2 out of 6 games where I didn't have a deed in my opening hand. But I never had money issues and often I could play a goods, later a deed and then boot to play something more. The draw structure also opens for lowball wins. I see this home as a great outfit for playing dudes n' deeds. |

Were you tempted to play Marion Seville (Exp.1) over Dave "Slim" Gorman for the potential of a 3-stud over a permanent 1-stud? I quite often play Marion for this reason, but then never seem to get a melee weapon onto him. |

Don't think I have the melee weapons to support him in this deck. Bowie Knife is tempting, but I'm a big fan of the detergent character of the Shotgun |
Glad to see Unprepared is still doing solid work. It was surprisingly rare at the Euros - it is still a great card, I'm guessing it is just competing against a braoder range of strong cards.
Bravo for complimenting your opponent on their skills too - the 2016 Euros certainly underlined the quality of the Danish playerbase.
Is it worth considering Antheia Pansofia instead of Maria Kingsford? She's only 1 bullet lower but has much higher value, although I suppose 0 bullets is a problem when you're playing Takin' Ya With Me. Or maybe swapping her out for Jake Smiley - saving 1GR and getting two more quasi influence?
