This first draft deck is for casual play with friends, not tournament play. It is aimed at being thematic, and revolves around a cabal of gambling huckster wizards. This deck uses only cards I have currently, but I have some cards/expansions on order to help modify it - other cards I am thinking about using with it are: 2x shotgun 1x Idol of Tlazolteotl 1x Stone Idol 1x Denise Brancini Ol' Howard 2x Paralysis Mark 2x Corporeal Twist 1x Pettigrew's Pawn Shop

The starting line-up will be chosen from Theo, Willa, Benny, Gina and Maria. Ol' Howard will definitely start, and he'll bring out Grimoires and More, letting me get easy access to hexes right from the first turn.

The idea behind the deck is to try to avoid shootouts, but rather to win by hexes and control points.

What are people's thoughts/opinions? Feel free to let me know of any cards you think are must-haves. Please keep in mind, though, that I do not really care much about the whole value structure as, like I said, I will do everything in my power to get rid of gangs before we get to the shootout phase.

If your plan is to try and avoid shootouts and manipulate your way to victory through use of hexes, I'd recommend adding a few more copies of cards like Phantom Fingers, Phantasm, Shadow Walk and Blood Curse.

Your deck looks like it will have a hard time actually succeeding its spell pulls due to the large number of low value cards. I'd definitely look at replacing some of them with higher value options. Rumors is a good place to start.

Makaio Kaleo, Esq. would be a useful dude to add to your starting posse. He can work his own kind of legal black magic to shift bounties generated by Den of Thieves from Gina Tailfeathers to Maria Kingsford to quickly increase her casting bonus.

While you're going for theme over fine tuned tournament effectiveness, my deck from the GenCon main event might prove useful for inspiration as I also took the 'avoid shootouts, win through building and hexes' approach.

@DoomDog Thanks for your feedback. Some good ideas there, also I forgot to mention that I have Christine Perfect on the way! She will be very useful for succeeding with some of those hexes like Soul Blast! I couldn't find a way to message you directly, so I had to respond here. That link that you put up doesn't seem to work. I had a look through your decklists. What is the name of the list?

Thanks, Bojangles

The deck is called Phantom Ringers. It's Fearmongers rather than Outlaws, but a lot of the same tricks will work.

@DoomDog Thanks for that!
