Updated after seeing holes in the deck (placing second in the last Deputy tournament.)
I've realized how limited Fetch could be. Also, cheat punishes are better used a surprise and Quickdraw Handgun sometimes just doesn't cut it I changed 7's and 8's to 9's and Q's and added a couple of Pistol Whips for more potency in shootouts.
Nothing from Frontier Justice (can't see anything I can use there)
The deck is simple, a 13-12-13 structure (better odds at low ball and does ok at straight up draw 5 shootout hands) that revolves around Desolation Row jobs early in the game, followed by deed sliding, which never happens coz' people in our side of town love shootouts (admittedly, so do I).
Notable cards which make Desolation Row safer to use with lesser dudes doing the job:
a.) Ace in the Hole: In my opinion one of the best shootout spell in the game. Keep those Jokers in hand. Switch trips or full houses to 4-of-a-kinds or cheating hands to legal. But the best part is that your huckster stays safe away from shootouts... till they get kidnapped.
It fails the Hex check to itself though.
b.) Takin' Ya With Me I lose you lose
Other notable cards:
a.) Phantasm: It doubles as a Paralysis Mark by pulling people into your home and threatening an isolated shootout. Keeps your opponent unbalanced. Haven't tested it in this deck but I've ran a set in my old 4R. Love this card!
b.) Mayfair Family Deck: It's a huckster for 1 ghost rock. I usually attach it to Jake Smiley (reduced it to one, I might change it up for a natural huckster instead)
c.) Xiong "Wendy" Cheng: coz she's Xiong "Wendy" Cheng
Deck Strategies.
A.) Control Rocket:
Early control points and ghost rock from Desolation Row + deed slide while protecting Town Square
B.) Control Bomb:
All opposing dudes are booted? Nicodemus Whateley! Play him from hand or Recruitment Drive him in and steal a win!
Or screw A or B , go for C.) Just Keep Shooting. I've been forced into fire fights far too many times in the past. So here's my answer:
Sloane. She's the Big Bad B*tch for a reason. Heck, I make HER into a huckster and give her shadow walk and blood curse then chase dudes around town. Let's see you kidnap this huckster!
Other combos:
a.) Nicodemus Whateley or Maria Kingsford (pumped by Morgan Research Institute ) +Phantasm: Opponent playing turtle? pull em from their home to town square where everyone's waiting. Reverse kidnapping! :D
A lot of theory work here, but it's a combination of decks I've played in the past. I'm open to suggestions :D

If I have Maria Kingsford and if Ace in the Holeis attached to her and I cast it but she is not in my posse does she still get the bonus to her huckster skill? Also, If I use Shadow Walk with her to make her join a posse, does she get the bonus in that situation? |

It was effective in the beginning, but people simply got used to the Ace in the Hole + Quickdraw Handgun combo (our community isn't that big, but we're trying to grow it.) Maybe it's just me but facing up against pure shootout builds put me at a disadvantage if I can't force into into playing a cheating hand. I'll be play testing this build anyhow and see which look better. Here's the original deck dtdb.co lemme know what you think if it. |

I was just going to comment on the brilliant Ace in the Hole + Quickdraw Handgun combo, and ask how often does it fire off and if it's worth including Quickdraw Handguns in the deck at the expense of more Paralysis Marks... And now you removed both. Hmm... 9's don't actually look stronger than 8's.
