Hi there, Last saturday we had a lovely day at the game store the Lab in Utrecht and I happen to ended up on the top of the foodchain ;)

I had to face 3 nice decks and a landslide deck.

The first opponent was a Justice In Exile deck, with "Thunder Boy" Nabbe and Hattie DeLorre. I was quite affraid of the potential, since well I cheat regularly. The good news was that his economy sucked. he was unable to play anything. My economy was fine as always. Milt Clemons and Makaio Kaleo, Esq. generate a few rocks, Hustled, Monte Bank and just deeds makes sure I can generally always empty my hand. I dominated the game, but was not able to finish it off. Things turned around when milt was aced with a coachwhip. Giving my opponent 8 rock. Unfortunately for him there was no more time.

second I faced a landslide The 108 Righteous Bandits deck. we were competing for economy. I had 14 and he had 15 at some point. Fred Aims with an Outlaw Mask was collecting influence from the bounty in town square to prevent a victory for him. while I was slowly filling Allie Hensman up with control. Hustings made the turn go slower, because he need to tap all his dudes all the time to prevent my victory. He did not get his only The Evidence the second time to deny my influence and it was time again. At that point Hustings made sure I won it by a landslide (pun intended).

The thrid opponent had an almost exact Justice In Exile deck. So I was a little more prepared. He also had economyproblems. He was gathering controlpoints at my Hunter Protections but he made the mistake to give up townsquare. Making it very hard for him to move around. So I could take control of all his deeds, forcing him to make moving actions which were spreading him up. At that point it was time and I had again more control points.

Last was the Full Moon Brotherhood. My opponent just got it from the internet the night before, so didn't really know how to get the most out of it. It seemed to have potential, but I cant remember anithing dominating the game. I won just in time on control.

Any final thoughts: This deck has great synergy and it flows very well. Rico Rodegain has become less usefull since he lost its influence. You can swap him if your opponent is clearly playing a landslidedeck for Genesee "Gina" Tailfeathers. Bad Company was the least usefull card this game, it might be better to play a Mugging.

Congratulations on your victory and thanks for the detailed report! :)

In particular the commentary on Rico Rodegain post-errata is useful. At least out of Den of Thieves (with the grifter discount) it sounds like he was still useful and actually now gave you an interesting choice, flipping between Rico Rodegain and Genesee "Gina" Tailfeathers depending on the match-up. Choices like this are good and interesting while Rico seemed an auto include for lots of deck pre-errata.

Totally agree on adding Mugging, it is great.

Interesting to see 3x The Stakes Just Rose and 1x Sun in Yer Eyes - I normally go the opposite way or even 4x Sun in Yer Eyes.

Could it be worth squeezing in a LeMat Revolver or two instead of the Monte Bank? If you consistently find yourself with enough ghost rock and grifters it might be worth considering the change?

It is funny that you bring LeMat Revolver up, because I was looking for ways to implement it in a deck and I was considering it for this deck even. At some point I made the desicion that economy is more vital than another weapon. With just 8 deeds, I think I am on the low side so Monte Bank and Hustled compensate for it. I will try it though, thanks for bringing it up. The Stakes Just Rose vs Sun in Yer Eyes I know sun in your eyes is so incredibly good, but stakes just counters it. It is vital for me to get a 2+ stud in a shootout. My off values realy benefit my lowball, but make my 5 hand draws so unpredictible. Trust me I am a big fan of sun in yer eyes, but my experience tells me stakes is better. Wow I am really all over the place when I type hastely, I just want to say to much in to few sentences. anyway I hope you understand my arguments. I would prefer Sun in Yer Eyes in a deck that want to see a cheating hand really badly.

Thanks for the insightful feedback.

Good point on the economy/deeds - the other Edinburgh players often point out that I seem to mainly play deeds to bolster my draw structure... ;)

Appreciate the analysis of Sun in Yer Eyes v The Stakes Just Rose and how the decision is influenced by your draw structure. I like that Doomtown Reloaded forces this kind of choice with its deck construction rules.

Congratulations again on your win.

@oortje Kudos on the win. I like the chessiness and lethality of your deck. I was wondering how much, if any, cheating punishment set your deck back?

@drew i am still vunerable for Coachwhip! since my influence is never overwelmingly great. So yes i am vunarable. But you can sort of estimate how many action cards are in your opponents hand. If he has no gr, he will ben stuck on deeds, dudes and goods if he has no cardflowacceleration. He will be out of action cards in a single shootout. Then you try to overrun him with shootouts, if possible. Since my card flow is quite good I should 3 to 4 new cards every turn. Making my likelyhood on actioncards very high. Also i tend to play legal vs lawdogs and it seems to work out just good enough.
