Shindig 38

Reworked the deck a little based on db0's suggestions.

-1 Drew Beauman -1 QUARTERMAN +1 Janosz Pratt +1 Jake Smiley

-4 Quickdraw Handgun +2 It's Not What You Know... +2 Force Field

-1 A Slight Modification +1 This'll Hurt in the Mornin'

Dead, alive or in-between, you're coming with me. So come quietly or there will be... trouble.

Between QUATERMAN and Yagn's Mechanical Skeleton, control cards aren't going to be much use against your robot horde once you get going. Yeah, you start with 3 wealth, but you have a lot of Deeds that cost 1 or 2 rock, so you should be able to ramp up fairly quickly. Particularly when a Skeleton on Wendy removes her upkeep thanks to Margaret Hagerty.

The bullet bonus from the Skeleton (and maybe the penalty from Nightmare at Noon) should enable Outgunned and that plus the immunity to being booted should allow you to shoot creeps Point Blank.

Play Dudes, turn 'em into cyborgs so you don't have to pay them any more and go serve the public trust, protect the innocent, uphold the law.

Excuse me. I have to go. Somewhere there is a crime happening.

This is a really cool deck, love the theme and that you're making Arsenal work!

Great idea, thanks for sharing your deck list. And I love the name. That's one thing I really appreciate about the DTR community - evocative or clever deck names. Right I'm working on a similar deck I call The Unbootables.

For my starting posse I run:

Andrew Burton

Jake Smiley

Janosz Pratt

Margaret Hagerty

J.W. Byrne

Under ideal circumstances, I use Andrew to discard a Mechanical Skeleton and make a dude wanted (and hopefully draw into a QUATERMAN or Rich Man's Guard Dog if I don't have one in hand). This pairs nicely with Janosz and Byrne, and is another way for me to take advantage of The Arsenal's call out ability. On the downside, it starts out with 1 less influence, though having Byrne keep the free Skeleton invented by Janosz until the end of the turn definitely helps.

QUATERMAN is one of my favorite cards, but I've yet to make a competitive deck using it. I feel that A Slight Modification and Yagn's Mechanical Skeleton have finally tipped the balance enough to make gadgets playable.

Needs a way to win ties for the forcefield to have maximum impact is the only thing I can think of. How to do that? great question...

I've been obsessed with Takin' Ya With Me recently, that's one way to take advantage of ties.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

I think turning ties into wins with Outgunned and It's Not What You Know might be enough to work with forcefield, though.

I agree. I don't think you'd want to dilute the deck's draw structure just to leverage Force Field. In my version of this deck it's mostly a cheap way to trigger A Slight Modification. It also works well on QUATERMAN where you don't care as much about having to discard your dude.

Someone please explain to me how putting the mechanical skeleton on a dude with will reduce their upkeep by one when Margaret is at their location. I get that she reduces quaterman's upkeep and the wretched's upkeep but I don't see how she can reduce someone's upkeep that has a mechanical skeleton. They aren't considered gadget dudes are they? Wouldn't they just be a dude that has a gadget equipped to them?

Read mechanical skeleton more carefully.

Wow! I'm dumb! It helps to RTFC lol! I have completely skipped over that text every time I've looked at that card. I was just so excited that it makes it to where your dude can't be moved or booted.

I was just thinking, much as I like Wylie Jenks, it's probably better to replace him with a 3rd Force Field. How often do you have 8 Rock?
