This is the deck I took to the York tournament on 26th September.

Scott's Max Baine Arsenal deck: I got rid of Andrew Burton who was a near-permanent 6-stud with a sword, I camped on his California Tax Office and used it to my advantage and once my Hustings came out all his dudes went to hang out at The Whateley Estate. He was struggling to get dudes out for a change and I had practically all my deeds out. I had him in check when we got close to time, he was cleverer with the last moves and took the game.

Dan's Eagle Wardens: This was the first game I'd played against the Eagle Wardens and I didn't know how to attack them at all. Dan put Marcia Ridge in the town square and then there were fierywoofs everywhere and all my dudes were dust.

Karl's Law Dogs: Steven Wiles got into a fight and called in the Rev for backup; Steven got Pistol Whipped and the Rev was dead. That was quite nice! I tried to kidnap Lucy which failed but left him with only Lucy on the table which was a position he couldn't get back from. A win at last.

Steve's Eagle Wardens: I was (only very slightly) more prepared for this one! I think I Rope and Rided Marcia Ridge into my Yan Li's and Lydia Bear-Hands was his only available backup. I waited until after he'd spirited up all his fierywoofs to throw them out with Zhu's Reward. I think Steve folded when I then pulled out a Coachwhip! on him at the end of that turn 2 shootout.

Having only played a handful of games with the 108 before the tournament, I was pleased with how things went. I didn't think this deck was tightly structured enough really but I like the variety of things it can do - it felt like I could get mobile influence to play chess with and, whilst I needed plenty of stud to be sure of doing well in a shootout, I had a variety of ways to get that and a variety of ways to get rid of my opponents shootout card draw. I didn't use very much Kung Fu but when my dudes did pull off their moves it was lovely.

I realised that I'd struggled all day with which card to discard at sundown, if any, which seemed to be a good problem to have!

You're only playing 6x techniques, 2 of which are finishers. Do you often get a chance to do an effective combo?

Zhu's Ferocity is a good card, but Raking Dragons not so much. I'd think that the way to go is either max out all techniques, or drop them altogether. Is the middle way working for you?

I was hedging my bets mostly, throwing in a bit of everything to see what was useful. I quite liked it that way though, being able to combo to the kung fu in your discard pile is fun; I don't yet have enough experience to say whether it's effective. I'll play some more games before deciding what to change.
