DoomDog 972

I've only played one game with this build of the deck, but it was a fun one and the deck performed really well so why not share it?

My idea was to build a small town that could be easily defended, and then increase its control points with Office of Ancestral Affairs. You only have four different in-town deeds, plus some out of town economy. Silent Sigil and St. Anthony's Chapel are Holy Ground, and ideally you want one of them next to your home early on to maximise the utility of Ghostly Communion. There are a couple of Fires of Nanahbozho to Holy Ground up your other two in-town deeds. You might even be able to use the home job to attach it to them from the discard pile. It's probably best to save the spot on the other side of your home for Hunter Protections, which is a secondary source of control, and you can boot a dude there and then run the home job with a friend or two to get them home safe if the opportunity allows.

With Ghostly Communion, Pinto, Twilight Is Upon Us and Feichi "Suitcase" Lee the deck has plenty of movement tricks to get your dudes into shootouts en masse. Black Elk and Doc Holliday provide early bullets, making Suitcase Lee a respectable three stud, or buffing a Shaman that joined the shootout via Ghostly Communion.

It's possible that you end up with a duplicate deed in your hand that you're unable to discard if you have Silent Sigil in play. While this is definitely a problem, Ambrose Douglas and Smiling Frog have been included to help get them cycling again. If it becomes a real problem then the second Pat's Perch could be swapped for a Lula's Exploit and one Blake Ranch could trade out for a Gomorra Gaming Commission.

I know Speaks-With-Earth 's 2 upkeep is a bit steep, but it seems to me that a compact-town deck like this would benefit from having an (on-value) counter to Legendary Holster and the like (especially one that can even block the Stables+Holster combo).

And if the default early-game posse is your entire gang, then Ranger's Bible, Spirit Dance, and LeMat Revolver all sound like viable options.

Oh, and a rules question: If your posse drops below 3 bullets i the middle of the Office job (and doesn't get raised again), does the job auto-fail?

Don't think it auto-fails. It only checks the bullets at the time the job is started.

Also, I'm not seeing how Speaks-with-Earth makes a good Legendary Holster counter. He only boots dudes, not attachments. He's still a decent option as a stud Shaman. I just went with Laughing Crow because of her high Shaman skill that combos with Doc Holliday.

Whoops, sorry - I've been thinking you needed to boot Dude+Goods for Holster.

Blocks some other Shootout nastiness, though - Xiong "Wendy" Cheng, Nathan Shane, Silas Aims (Exp.1), Magnum Opus Tenebri, The Lord Provides....
