So this is my first attempt at a Sloane list (or any list to be honest). The aim is to be aggressive early, which is why I have included Sloane herself in my starting group. This style is supported by Allie gaining control points sitting in the Town Square.
The draw structure for the deck is A-8 with a focus on Straights, in particular a Club Straight-Flush. I have also included 3 J-Diamonds to give an outside chance of DMH and reduce my consistency for lowball.
The obviously problem is a lack of income initially. I do, however, start the game with a minimum of 4 Ghost Rock allowing me to play most of my deeds. Winning lowball and being able to play Pearlys Palace is preferable as it enables me to protect Sloane if I lose later lowball rounds. The eventual aim is to equip Sloane with Peacekeeper.
I haven't had a chance to test this yet. I have only played 3 games with a friends set with the starter decks and, having gotten my own Doomtown set for Xmas I wanted to make a start on building some decks (deckbuilding is my favourite part of any card game). I am keen to get any comments and criticisms.

Looks like a pretty solid straight flush shootin' structure which you've got a good shot of hitting if Sloane doesn't get Sun in Yer Eyes or other shootout madness slapped on her! I've found that Hot Lead Flyin' works best in decks with large posses of low value starting dudes that you can pull higher when you take casualties. I almost feel like Concealed Weapons might be a better fit if you're looking for a 6-value card if only to scare the bajeezus of out people when they think Sloane can pull a shotgun and ace 5-value dudes or less in the middle of a shootout! If not another Hiding in the Shadows is gonna be good since Sloane is going to be eating every Pistol Whip your opponent can muster! Hired Help is darn expensive and I see it most commonly used with free GR from the likes of James Ghetty or Lillian Morgan. With Sloane eating up 3 GR each and every turn do you often have the cash to play this one? Same deal with Ambush! 4 GR is darn expensive, I almost feel like another Kidnappin' would be a better fit! Since you do have the meanest stud shooter in the game you should abuse it! Have you thought about including Point Blank? Sloane can ace nearly any dude in the game assuming there aren't any shenanigans affecting her bullet count during shootout plays! Along that line you really want to be able to project Sloane's power so I feel that things like The Stakes Just Rose, Carter's Bounties, and Pinto really stretch her presence. Otherwise it looks like a great start to a gutsy deck :D |

I agree with the comment above. If you want to start with Sloane you'll need a lower curve on the cards you want to play, and this goes for the deeds. Also, how many turns do you want your deck to play and what's the play style? Because Sloane will soak the Outfit income by herself so you really need a plan on what to do and when to do to not be eaten by mid-to-late game from other famous builds around Gomorra. |
Oh it is also probably important to note that I currently only have 1 Core Set and NTNR.
